First Fundraiser for Gable--Mercy Shirts!!!!

I'm bursting at the seams with excitement to roll out our new fundraiser shirts!!

WHY in the world are we doing this AGAIN????

He is why.

{Oh my heart.}

We need to get Gable home so we can properly care for his cancer. (Hepatoblastoma.)

And to love on him silly.

Oh those chubby cheeks!!

This design is something I created over the course of a few days (with some awesome feedback from a few of my peeps!) based on an image I saw in my mind from Hosea 14:3, "In You, O Lord, the orphan finds mercy." The silhouette is specifically God the Father holding our little Gable...safe and sound in His arms of love...but it is to represent the loving care He gives to EACH of our children.

And all of us who have adopted these precious treasures formerly known as "orphans" KNOW what a blessing it is that the Father has mercy on them (and us) and unites us together in heart.

What is going to make this Tshirt/hoodie EXTRA SPECIAL is that it's going to have names of YOUR beloved children on the back! What?? That's right! ALL of our precious kiddos get listed on the back en masse as orphans who've been shown mercy from our gracious God.

These fabulous shirts have been lovingly designed by our friend and are screen printed on high quality fabrics that you will go back to over and over again!

Our original design is so special in many ways...the Chinese character is "ai" which means "love." We "love with abandon" because Jesus abandoned His right to Heaven, nobility and so much more in order to sacrifice His life on our behalf. (read Philippians 2:6-8) We lay down our own agendas, plans, and dreams in order to love the way Jesus has called us to--and find it SO MUCH BETTER! This "love with abandon" looks differently in each person's life. How does it look for you?

The verse on the back is our motivation that propels us to act. (I John 4:19) It is only because we have been shown such a lavishing love that we ourselves can love.

Art Auction Surprises…

Hillsong United has a song called "Oceans" that sings how the Spirit calls us out upon the waters…"the great unknown, where feet may fail."
This is how accepting the challenge to paint 20 canvases and then (gulp) put them out there to be auctioned felt to me.
I prayed like crazy and then slid my toe out into the great, vast waters of the unknown. Boxes of blank canvases sat at my feet on the left, bottles of paint on my right.
And taking His hand, I began.
Now, after the first day of the auction…I am in utter shock.
Not only have you sweet friends and family bid on each painting…the first day's total is over $1,000!!
WHAT?!?!?!??!
…Hillsong sings, "Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders, let me walk upon the water, wherever you would call me…"
And so, I'm walking...
It's been scary, and then downright humbling and tear-inducing.
Then the surprise of all: everyone seems to want a hoodie/t shirt in one of the designs!
Seriously, I am so blown away.
Through all of this, Esty is coming home! 
We begin the Travel Approval wait tomorrow! This approval is the final thumbs up before we buy our tickets and GO!
This wait can take up to 4 weeks. But recently I saw a family get theirs in FIVE DAYS. (double gulp!)

Great news!!! Our fundraiser has been given 4 more weeks!! You can order shirts until April 30th!!!  Mother's day, Easter and birthdays are all GREAT occasions to purchase these shirts for the women in your lives! Please help us bring home our precious littles from Uganda!!!

Many people have asked us how it's going so I thought I'd give a quick update and introduce our new fundraiser.

We have completed our home study...ALMOST! (I can't wait to just say it's done!) In Ohio, the document we are waiting on to complete the study takes up to 4 months. Each state has it's own pace, Texas gets it done in 1-2 days!! We have been waiting on this since the end of November. It should arrive in our mailbox any day now! You'll probably hear my shouts of joy when it arrives!

Once we have our home study completed, signed by the necessary people and sent to our agency, we will then begin the application with the United States Immigration. Then we wait for another two months while those papers are processing.

Key word: Wait!

In the meantime we have some time to raise the necessary funds for the next step. We are about 1/2 way there and would love your help, if you would like to become part of the story. Here's what's next:

Our friends at Wild Olive have opened a family fundraising account for us! We have FOUR WEEKS to sell as many tees as possible (see below for the fun patterns to choose from!)

If we sell more than 50, we will earn more per shirt! If you would like to help out our adoption fund, please consider buying for yourself...and then think about Mother's Day, birthday gifts, Easter gifts (the Hope shirt!). If your are connected to a church, will you consider inviting the youth group to "get their verse on" too?
